Making Change, One Heart at a Time | Kristen DeAndrade
As part of this video series, Hero Philanthropy made a $2500 donation to help further the Little Legs Big Heart Foundation’s mission of providing support, resources, and hope to families and individuals living with achondroplasia and other skeletal conditions. Kristen DeAndrade turned adversity into advocacy and created a vibrant community that connects individuals and families and shines a light on the mental healthcare that is equally as important as physical care.
Kerri Fitzgerald:
Chris, Kristen, it’s great to be here with you for My Hero 360.
Kristen DeAndrade:
Thank you.
Kerri Fitzgerald:
Chris, do you want to speak more about the mission of My Hero 360?
Chris Ciraulo:
Sure. My Hero 360 is really a story-sharing community, and it truly is a global community. Our goal is to inspire, empower, and impact individuals around the world. An example of that is an individual with a particular disease, sometimes it’s rare, sometimes it’s not rare, shares their stories of mental darkness, depression sometimes, and they share how they’ve overcome some of these big, big obstacles and are now living their best life.
When I read up on your organization, Kristen, I noticed that you’re spending a lot of resources on your ESN initiative, Emotional Support Network. I can’t think of a better way in which, as we share these stories of inspiration, how people share their stories of sadness, of anxiety, and then have overcome that, and not only overcome it, but then empower and inspire people around the globe. Amazing work that you’re doing.
Kristen DeAndrade:
Thank you.
Kerri Fitzgerald:
Now, Chris, we have something special to share with Kristen today. Do you want to talk about that?
Chris Ciraulo:
Sure. One of the things Hero Philanthropy does is make donations to advocacy groups where our missions align. With no further ado, we have a check, a ceremonial check over there in the amount of $2,500 made payable to your organization.
Kristen DeAndrade:
Wow. Thank you. Oh my God, that’s amazing. Thank you guys so much.
Kerri Fitzgerald:
Chris, what inspired Hero Philanthropy to want to donate to Little Legs Big Heart Foundation?
Chris Ciraulo:
At the end of the day, our missions align. When I think of your story and your organization, I think of somebody that is a hero. But you’re not just a hero, you went out and became one of the biggest advocates in the achondroplasia space. Because of that, you inspire our entire team. You’re in the forefront, you launched a meeting, you have your organization, so that made it easy for us to make this Hero Philanthropy donation.
Hero Philanthropy is donating $2,500 to Little Legs Big Heart Foundation, which Kristen here next to me founded. The 2 missions of our organizations completely align, and we are just thrilled to be here with Kristen today. Thank you very much for all that you do.
Kristen DeAndrade:
Thank you. Thank you so much, oh my gosh.
Chris Ciraulo:
You’re welcome.
